History

The Ameristar Buffet traces its roots back to 1954 in Elko County, Nevada where the Cactus Petes Desert Lodge was built. This was the first in the series of Ameristar Casinos, giving the chain their close connection to the Gambling Capital of the USA. Each Ameristar Casino built has a buffet restaurant, indulging gamers and locals alike.

Ameristar’s buffets carry various names in different locations. They have the Heritage Buffet in Council Bluffs, East Chicago, and Vicksburg. The Horizons Buffet is at Kansas City, while the Centennial Buffet is at Black Hawk. The Landmark Buffet is at St. Charles.
